Dual Degree Program (Graduate)

Washington State University, College of Engineering and Architecture
Kyungpook National University (KNU), Dept. of Chemical Engineering

All students participating in this program must satisfy the admissions requirements and the program requirements of the program at both institutions.

The preliminary exam will be conducted during the first or second semester that the student is resident at the Host Institution.

WSU requires a minimum of seventy-two (72) credits for the Ph.D. degree. The Dual Program Student may transfer up to a maximum of thirty-five (35) credits (with a grade of “B” or better for coursework and a grade of “satisfactory” for research) from KNU to WSU

KNU requires a minimum of thirty-six (36) credits for the Ph.D. degree. The Dual Degree Program Student (WSU) may transfer up to a maximum of eighteen (18) credits (with a grade of “B” or better for coursework and a grade of “satisfactory” for research) from WSU to KNU.

The final dissertation will be written in English.

KNU requires a minimum of thirty-six (36) credits and sixty (60) credits for the Ph.D. and M.S./Ph.D. degree, respectively. The Dual Program Student may transfer up to a maximum of eighteen (18) credits for the Ph.D. degree and thirty (30) credits for the M.S./Ph.D. degree (with a grade of “B” or better for coursework and a grade of “satisfactory” for research) from MU to KNU

MU requires a minimum of thirty-six (36) credits and sixty (60) credits for the Ph.D. and M.S./Ph.D. degree, respectively. The Dual Program Student may transfer up to a maximum of eighteen (18) credits for the Ph.D. degree and thirty (30) credits for the M.S./Ph.D. degree (with a grade of “B” or better for coursework and a grade of “satisfactory” for research) from the Home Institution to MU

A qualifying exam will be conducted after the students fulfill their coursework at the Host Institution. The final dissertation will be written in English
