KNU Department of Leisure & Sports Kendo Club Notches Consecutive National Competition Wins

The KNU Department of Leisure & Sports Kendo Club was successful in winning numerous awards at a recent national competition.
The KNU Kendo Club won 4 medals, including for the women's team event, at the “64th Spring National Collegiate Kendo Federation Exhibition,” held April 8-10 at the Muan Sports Park Indoor Gymnasium in Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do.
The women's team, consisting of Seoyeon Kim (Class 2019), Ayoung Choi (Class 2019), Yejin Lee (Class 2019), and Jiyoon Nam (Class 2022) defeated U1 University 1-0 in the finals to win the gold medal. In addition, the men's team took the Runner-Up spot, and Park Chang-geun (Class 2019) and Kim Seo-yeon (Class 2019) both took Third Place respectively in the men's and women's individual competitions.
On April 24th, at the 57th National City and Provincial Kendo Competition to commemorate the birth of Yi Sun-sin held at the Yi Sun-sin Sports Complex in Asan, South Chungcheong Province, Ye-jin Lee (Class 2019) won the women's individual competition. Kim Seo-yeon (Class 2019), who participated in the team event as the Daegu women's representative in the same tournament, took Third Place in the city and provincial team event.
