KNU Ranks 1st among National Universities for 4th Consecutive Year in ‘THE Asia University Rankings’

Kyungpook National University ranked 91st in Asia,14th in South Korea, and 1st among Korean national universities in the recently announced 2025 Asia University Rankings by the UK's global university evaluation institution, THE (Times Higher Education). KNU has maintained its position as the top national university since 2022.
In this year’s evaluations, KNU’s scores improved across most indicators. In particular, in the 'Research Environment' category, it ranked 59th out of 835 Asian universities for the second consecutive year, reaffirming its competitiveness as a research-oriented university.
The THE Asia University Rankings evaluate five areas: 1) Teaching (24.5%), 2) Research Quality (30%), 3) Research Environment (28%), 4) Industry (10%), and 5) International Outlook (7.5%).
Meanwhile, in the 2025 QS World University Rankings by Subject, announced last March, KNU ranked in 16 subjects, showing an increase compared to the previous year (14 subjects). In particular, the Agriculture & Forestry subject area ranked in the 101-150 band, the highest among all the ranked subjects.
