KNU 1st Among National Universities in Korea Times’ K-University Global Rankings

KNU ranked 14th overall nationally, proving its global competitiveness.
Kyungpook National University (President HEO Young-woo) demonstrated outstanding internationalization by ranking 1st among national universities and 14th overall in the "2026 Korea Times K-University Global Excellence Rankings."
The rankings were implemented for the first time this year to objectively diagnose the levels of internationalization in Korean universities and provide practical information to international students. Unlike other university rankings, the Korea Times places a high weight of 63.2% on internationalization indicators, focusing its analysis on the universities' globalization capabilities.
The assessments were conducted on 54 universities nationwide that have a certain minimum number of international students enrolled and possess the necessary educational infrastructure and capacity. There were 22 detailed indicators structured around the following 4 main categories, for a total possible score of 190 points: Education (60 points), Research (50 points), Student Support (40 points), and Graduate Outcomes and Influence (40 points).
Kyungpook National University received particularly high evaluations in the Education and Student Support categories, ranking 1st in Certified Educational Internationalization Capacity, 3rd in Retention Rate of International Students, and 8th in Educational Expenditure per Student, among other achievements.
