KNU Department of Geology Receives MOVE Suite Software Donation from PE Limited, UK
The Department of Geology at the School of Earth System Sciences has received a generous donation of 10 MOVE suite software licenses from PE Limited, UK, for academic research and education. PE Limited (also known as Petex) has been at the vanguard of oil and gas field modelling since its inception in 1990.
The MOVE suite is a comprehensive structural modelling and analysis toolkit that provides an integrated platform for geological data interpretation. The software package includes advanced modules for 2D/3D Kinematic Modelling, Geomechanical Modelling, Fracture Modelling, Fault Response Modelling, Fault Analysis, Stress Analysis, and Move Link for Petrel, OpenWorks, and GST. The donated licenses, covering all software modules, are valued at £1,928,384.01 (approximately KRW 3,860,000,000).
This donation will significantly enhance the department's capabilities in training the next generation of geoscientists at Kyungpook National University. Students and researchers will gain hands-on experience in characterizing subsurface geological structures and developing 3D geological models through integrated data analysis.
