The Region-Industry-University-Research Cooperation Technology Institute (Director Kim Hyun-deok) announced that it operated the "KNU DAEGU RISE" joint pavilion at CES 2026, held in Las Vegas from January 6 to 9. Alongside 14 local companies participating in the Daegu RISE (Regional Innovation System & Education) project, the pavilion recorded 545 consultations and a total export consultation value of USD $18.46 million.

The KNU DAEGU RISE joint pavilion served as a platform to intensively showcase the achievements of industry-academic cooperation accumulated by universities and businesses. By featuring innovative products that combine the research capabilities of local universities with the field technologies of private companies, the pavilion introduced the competitiveness of Daegu’s regional industries to the global market.

K&L Information Systems Co., Ltd., exhibited an "IoT-based Hospital Incident Command System and Disaster Response Solution." This technology is designed to advance hospital response systems during infectious disease outbreaks and establish clear command structures during various emergencies. The company conducted 224 consultations, including the signing of one Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

Moonchang Co., Ltd., presented a "Smart Road Mirror for Preventing Accidents at Unsignaled Intersections." Beyond accident prevention, the mirror demonstrated the potential for improving traffic flow by utilizing data collected at intersections. The company recorded USD $1.39 million in consultation value and signed one MOU during the event.

Other participating companies showcased innovative technologies in Daegu's strategic future industries, such as mobility and healthcare, further promoting the technological prowess of local academia and industry on the world stage.

Kim Hyun-deok, Director of the Institute, remarked, "This joint pavilion is highly significant as it introduced the fruits of industry-academic cooperation, built together by local universities and companies, to the global stage. Based on the achievements confirmed at CES, we will strengthen our support to ensure that industry-academic cooperation continues to demonstrate its full potential and systematically build a robust regional industrial ecosystem."
