KNU confirmed as the top ranking university in the production of SCI standard articles

Kyungpook National University has been confirmed as the top ranking university in the production of SCI (Science Citation Index) standard articles among all universities located in Daegu. The following chart outlines the number of articles published in the past three years (2008~2010) by the seven universities in Daegu, according to research.xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

According to the research, KNU has the highest number of SCI standard articles, followed by Yeungnam University in second place with a volume of 0.33; and Catholic University of Daegu in third place with a volume of 0.2. Keimyung University, Daegu University and Daegu Haany University each recorded a volume of 0.1, while Kyungil University finished with a volume of 0.03. In the International Standard category, KNU also ranked number one with a volume of 0.43; Yeungnam University again came second with a volume of 0.33; and Catholic University of Daegu followed in third with a volume of 0.2. In National Research Foundation of Korea publications, Daegu University ranked highest with a volume of 0.87. Daegu Haany University came in second with a volume of 0.77; and Catholic University of Daegu and Yeungnam University came in third at 0.67 each. SCI standard articles are articles whose thesis meets the international publishing standards set by the Science Citation Index.
In the Domestic Standard category, Daegu Haany University ranked first with a volume of 1.33; Keimyung University ranked second with 1.1 volumes and Daegu University third with 1 volume. Despite their relatively higher SCI and international standard rankings, Kyungpook National University and Yeungnam University scored 0.73 and 0.77 volumes respectively in the domestic standard category.
