Kyungpook National University has ranked highly in the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) 2016 report. According to the CWUR, a non-profit educational organization, KNU ranks 337th in the world, 8th among all Domestic Korean Universities, and 1st among Korean National Universities. The ranking puts KNU in the top 1.3% of the 25,000 higher educational institutions included in the overall CWUR survey. The CWUR does not depend on survey data or data submitted from Universities for its ranking criteria. Evaluations are based on quantitative indicators which are available for objective verification, including, among others, patents (for which KNU ranked 88th in the world), quality of faculty (235th), theses citations (295th), academic publications (366th), and quality of education (378th).
