KNU Ranked 8th in Domestic Rating of "Best Global Universities”

US News & World Report has ranked KNU 8th among domestic universities in the category of “Best Global Universities” and 457th in the world. The same report dubbed KNU the top national university in Korea.
On October 6, US News and World Report announced its comprehensive evaluation to determine the top 750 universities out of 1000 institutions spanning 57 countries worldwide. 17 domestic Korean universities were listed among the top 750, including Kyungpook National University.
The university ranking is based on data pertaining to academic service provided by Thomson Reuters.
Academic sector rankings put KNU at 4th place domestically in the field of physics; No. 1 among Korean National Universities, and 172nd world-wide, recognizing KNU’s global research competitiveness.
According to Vice President for Planning, Myeong-gu Park, “The competitive global university evaluation result is largely due to KNU’s competitiveness as a research institution, the high proportion of papers cited, and the University’s research reputation; as well as the enlargement and strengthening of a system that supports professors, enabling them produce excellent research achievements”
