KNU makes the top 100 in the world for five consecutive years, ranking No. 1 in the world in "Decent Work and Economic Growth" (SDG8) among the evaluation categories.

Kyungpook National University ranked 39th in the world, 3rd in Korea, and 1st among national universities for the fifth consecutive year in the 2024 "THE World University Impact Rankings" released on June 12 by Times Higher Education (THE), a global university evaluation agency in the U.K. KNU has maintained a position in the top 100 for five consecutive years since entering the top 100 in 2020 at 99th place. In particular, KNU ranked first in the world this year in the category of "Decent Work and Economic Growth" (SDG8).

The "THE World University Impact Rankings" considers universities' research ability and social and global responsibilities as important evaluation factors. The evaluation criteria comprise 17 items contributing to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted at the UN General Assembly in 2015. The overall ranking is calculated by combining the score in the required category of "Cooperation for Sustainable Development Goals" (SDG17) together with the top three category scores. This year, a total of 1,963 universities from 125 countries participated in the evaluations, an increase of 372 participating universities compared to last year.

Among the evaluation categories, Kyungpook National University ranked No. 1 in the world for Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG8), No. 9 in the world for Zero Hunger (SDG2), No. 25 in the world for Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG11), and No. 20 in the world for Partnerships for the Goals (SDG17).

Moreover, in terms of domestic rankings, KNU ranked No. 1 in Korea in six categories: Zero Hunger (SDG2), Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG8), Reduced Inequalities (SDG10), Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG11), Life on Land (SDG15), and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG17).

Meanwhile, in Asia KNU ranked 87th overall and ranked 1st among national universities for the third consecutive year in the "THE Asia University Rankings 2024," released in April this year, while also ranking 1st for the fifth consecutive year in the recently released "QS World University Rankings."
