Kyungpook National University (KNU)
2018 Visiting Scholar Program
Office of International Affairs, KNU invites international faculty to submit course proposal for 3 week Summer School.
Summer School Dates: July 16 ~ Aug 3, 2018 + Aug 6(closing ceremony)
Teaching Commitment:
Each visiting scholar will be required to teach 1 three-credit course (45 hours of class contact) over a period of 3 weeks, which is scheduled as 3-hour classes, 5 times a week (Mon-Fri).
Class Information
Linked with KNU Summer School, we attract students from partners from all over the world. It will be a mixture of KNU and international students.
Where possible, we would like to encourage the use of interactive teaching methods. Given the short duration, we prefer that students are given handouts, instead of being required to purchase a text book.
Financial Arrangements:
KNU will provide:
· Fixed amount for roundtrip airfare (paid upon arrival) from USD 600 to USD2,500 depending on the region
· Campus accommodation (up to 25 days)
· Stipend of USD 2,500 – (paid at the end of the course)
Cultural Experience
Various cultural excursions will be arranged during the summer school, along with the chance to attend introductory Korean language classes.
Application Procedure:
Please apply online (http://en.knu.ac.kr/admission/visiting02_app.htm) before November 30, 2017. The selection process will be finalized by mid-December. Applicants will be informed by email. KNU will try our best to make sure many students enroll in the classes. Classes rarely can be canceled if the student enrollment is less than 10 and the applicant will be informed in April in this case.
