KNU Startup Support Group Selected as Grade A Host for its Initial Startup Packages

The Kyungpook National University Startup Support Group announced on December 12th that it had been selected as an Excellent (Grade A) Host Organization in the performance evaluations of initial startup support package projects conducted
by the Korean Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
Initial startup package support projects are projects that help stabilize and support growth for early-stage start-up companies with promising start-up items or advanced technologies within three years of founding. Kyungpook National University was selected as a host institution in 2020.
The performance evaluations reviewed last year's projects, and the KNU Startup Support Group received good reviews with regard to project performance of the host institution, activation of local startups, and performance of startups.
In the past year, the KNU Startup Support Group saw the participation of 20 startups, which together created 92 new jobs and achieved sales of 41.4 billion won and investments of 3.3 billion won. In addition, the Group has been working hard to revitalize local startups by operating various specialized programs, such as contactless (virtual) marketing support, support for attracting domestic and foreign investment, and one-stop startup consultation.
Gong Seong-ho, Director of Startup Support at Kyungpook National University, noted, “I believe that this selection as an excellent institution is the result of establishing a foundation for the growth of early-stage startups and achieving tangible results based on the physical and human infrastructure held by Kyungpook National University. We plan to continue to discover and nurture promising startups going forward.”
