KNU Ranks 1st Among National Universities in ‘2024 QS World University Rankings’

Kyungpook National University ranked 1st in national universities, 16th in Korea, and 520th in the world in the ‘2024 QS World University Rankings’ recently announced by QS, a global university evaluation agency based in the UK. In particular, KNU ranked first among national universities for the fourth consecutive year.

The 2024 QS World University Rankings are the result of combining the six existing indicators of 1) Academic Reputation (30%), 2) Number of Paper Citations per Faculty Member (20%), 3) Student-to-Faculty Ratio (10%), 4) Corporate Reputation (15%), 5) Foreign Faculty Ratio (5%), and 6) Foreign Student Ratio (5%), together with the three new indicators of 1) Employment Performance (5%), 2) International Research Cooperation (5%), and 3) Sustainability (5%).

KNU ranked 4th nationally in both Employment Performance and Sustainability. The scores for Number of Paper Citations per Faculty Member, Ratio of Foreign Teachers, and Ratio of Foreign Students also showed a steady rise.

Hong Won-hwa, president of Kyungpook National University, noted, “These results prove that Kyungpook National University has high competitiveness in various fields such as education, research, and internationalization. We will continue to provide unsparing support for the further development of the university, such as improving educational conditions and improving research capabilities.”
