University students in Daegu will learn about corporate culture at overseas sites.

Kyungpook National University's Electronic Information Device Group is now managing the ‘Youth Global Pioneer Group,’ which aims to foster the resolve of college students based in Daegu to advance into global markets and provide them with opportunities to learn new technologies and new product trends in overseas fields.

This program will be conducted as part of the Regional Innovation (RIS) Project based on local government-university cooperation. KNU serves as the central managing university of the RIS Project, which is promoted by the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Regional Innovation Platform, in addition to leading the Electronic Information Device Group.

The ‘Youth Global Pioneer Group’ is a group of students attending universities in the Daegu area that are participating in the RIS Project. A total of 16 students, including 8 from India and 8 from Uzbekistan, were selected through interviews focusing on their motivation for applying and action plans. Spain, which is also participating as a host country, is scheduled to make its student selections in mid-September. The students will be dispatched to India from September 11th to 17th, Uzbekistan from October 30th to November 4th, and Spain from November 6th to 11th, to participate in overseas technology and business consultations. Participating students will play the role of a corporate supporter and experience overseas corporate culture. The matching companies at the overseas sites are comprised of local companies in the electronic information device field, such as Design Network, MMP, and Dream Idea Soft. Students dispatched to Spain will support matching companies at the ‘Spanish Smart City Expo World Congress 2023,’ the world’s largest smart city exhibition held in Barcelona.

Group Director Kim Hyun-Deok noted, “The Youth Global Pioneer Group was established in collaboration with universities and companies to improve college students’ ability to adapt to the field through practical training opportunities. In particular, we hope this will be an opportunity to broaden student horizons and discover potential in various fields by providing opportunities to visit companies in the electronic information equipment field and experience new technologies and products in those overseas locations.”
